Foe Memory
all day my face had this stink. was it
from the heat? when i touched my nose
and pulled my fingers back over
my lips it stank.
a stink impossible
to put a finger on.
meanwhile i tried
to place it.
only one or two
times had i smelled this.
impossible to place
now that i've washed
my face, thinking
myself clever
for having remembered
to bring my little foaming soap.
